International Year of the Family: Ten Years On - Problems and Progress: asks what has been achieved since the International Year of the Family in 1994. Articles from a wide range of countries tell of the increasing number of single parent families, of the changing role of parents with more women becoming the breadwinners and some men becoming more involved with the care of their children. A major concern over the ten years is the spread of HIV/AIDS and the newsletter tells of practical projects developed to help those affected by the pandemic.
